The Brahma Kamal is one of the flowers of the Himalayas that grows in the high mountains’ upper limit. Purple is the true color of flower heads, but they are combined in layers of papery, greenish-yellow, and boat-shaped proxies. The flowers bloom at the height of the rainy season and grow well in high places such as The Valley of Flowers. Bract-cover gives a warm place to grow in the cold mountains. The Brahmakamal flowers are widely used in hill temples. This plant root is used in local medicine to treat bruises and cuts. Brahma Kamal is the state flower of Uttarakhand.
