Marthandam Beekeepers Co-operative Society is approved and certified by the Village and Khadi Industries Commission. The association, which started with 25 beekeepers in 1937, has now grown to 1363 members in the association. Honey extracted from the Marthandam forest is collected and distributed all over India. Honey production is seasonal depending on the climate from February to April each year.
